Assets are Decommissioned and Prepared for Removal
Material is taken out of active use by the client, marking the beginning of the ITAD process and the transition into secure lifecycle management.
Secure Chain of Custody Begins at Pickup
The ITAD provider takes physical possession of the assets, initiating controlled handling, tracking, and accountability from the first transfer point.
Data Is Permanently Destroyed
Data is eliminated through certified methods, including software wiping or physical destruction such as shredding, depending on the asset and risk profile.
Assets Are Evaluated and Routed for Maximum Value
Each asset is tested and graded to determine condition and residual value, then directed to the most effective downstream path, including refurbishment, demanufacturing, or recycling.
Components and Materials Are Recovered for Reuse
Based on evaluation, assets are sorted into the most effective downstream channel: refurbishment, demanufacturing, or recycling. Recovering components and materials reduces the need for carbon-intensive mining and manufacturing, lowering the overall environmental footprint.
- High-Value Components Are Recovered
CPUs, RAM, and GPUs are extracted and prepared for reuse in secondary markets or new applications. - Raw Materials Are Reclaimed and Reused
Cables and wiring are processed to extract copper, which is refined and returned to the manufacturing supply chain. - Remaining Materials Are Recycled Responsibly
Non-reusable components are processed through recycling streams, with plastics and metals separated and circuit boards routed for specialized recovery.
